Every March, thousands make the journey to the Mecca of Dance Music on South Beach, Miami for the Winter Music Conference. The creative energy that radiates from the city can be rather overwhelming at first - everything seems much larger than life. There is so much going on at any given moment. One can dance anywhere at anytime for any reason – this is the energy music embraces. My word for the week was ‘perfect’. The flow was pure and consistent. Our love of the music is unquestionable. Yet, we realize the music sounds so much better with YOU. The egos were swept to the side as we understood that we’ve been brought together for a definite purpose. All the pieces were coming together, one at a time, perfectly in place.
This year I stepped back from the DJ/producer/music industry biz and embraced an attitude of gratitude. My intent was to celebrate life and experience it with others who shared the same energy. What I witnessed was something beyond beautiful. There were complete transformations happening before my eyes. I could see it in their eyes. I could feel it in their touch. It was like we were all sitting on top of the world holding hands via the strings of life – music. There were new faces, familiar souls; there were rekindled bonds reformed without control. It was love without condition. I love and live for days like these. Celebrating life and sharing the experience with people the world over. This year, I feel that an alliance formed. The shift, often spoke of in spiritual circles, is in overdrive. Hold on, but let your arms and legs go =) We all need… good times!
